Me? Create a blog?

OK, so this is my first attempt at creating and maintaining a blog.  I didn't think blogs were here to stay; so I avoided all attempts by friends who encouraged me to try it out.  It seemed like too much work; seemed like it would take too much time... and I might find some truth to that fear.  But for now, I forge ahead.  It's not that I need more time in front of a screen - do any of us?  I've always thought of writing someday; but I was thinking more along the lines of a book.  I'll try my hand at this and see where it leads.
